Rabbi Bernstein continues discussion of practical halakhah (Jewish Law) through an examination of "On Mixing Fish and Meat," by Rabbi Paul Plotkin of the Rabbinical Assembly's Committee of Jewish Law and Standards. The responsum is emblematic of a principle in Jewish jurisprudence that when a law or practice exists for a particular reason and the reason no longer applies, then the law may be changed.
